 Before working as a consultant at Alix Partners, the graduated engineer from Munich had various functions at Knorr-Bremse AG, the world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles. Mr. Niemeyer was responsible, inter alia, for European purchases of indirect materials, mainly machinery and capital goods. From 2006 to 2008, David Niemeyer established – as "Head of Global Sourcing India" – the purchasing organization of Knorr-Bremse in India. As "Head of Commodity", he managed most recently all product group activities of all locations in Europe.
At the Technical University of Munich, the 36-year-old studied mechanical engineering with majors in aeronautics and astronautics and energy systems. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
