Kerkhoff Competence Center of Supply Chain Management, St. Gallen

Kerkhoff Consulting finances the Kerkhoff Competence Center of Supply Chain Management (KCC) at the chair for logistics management of the renowned University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. As an interface between science and practice, KCC is researching trends and change processes in the disciplines of purchasing, procurement and supply chain management.

1. Research and studies

Jointly with external partners, among others the Institut für Demoskopie Allensbach (Institute for Public Opinion Research in Allensbach), KCC prepares studies and reports on specific subjects and industry sectors. These studies broaden the scientific horizon as well as the horizons of consultants from Kerkhoff Consulting. As of the second half of the year 2010, KCC will issue a series of publications on topics in purchasing, procurement and supply chain management.

2. Scientific consulting

Jointly with consultants from Kerkhoff Consulting, KCC will establish think tanks in which researchers and consultants bring science and practice together to derive new consulting techniques and topics.

3. Further education and training

Not only the studies, but also the work of think tanks, and the research on specific subjects will enable higher qualifications for all consultants. Kerkhoff Consulting also offers its clients the opportunity of further training for their staff in special subjects at the KCC.

The KCC is headed by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle, holder of the chair for Logistics Management at the University of St. Gallen. Stölzle is, among others, a member of the scientific advisory council of the German Federal Minister for Traffic, Construction and Urban Development (Bundesminister für Verkehr, Bau- und Stadtentwicklung). Prof. Stölzle is also a member of the scientific advisory council of the Federal Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik – BME).
